The IC-M36 automatically adjusts the outgoing and incoming audio to compensate for ambient noise levels: whether you are in a loud environment or a quiet area, the IC-M36 ensures that your radio conversations are transmitted and received as clearly as possible.

Icom IC-M36 can Float
Continuing the legacy of the IC-M34, the IC-M36 floats back to the surface if dropped overboard, even with the optional speaker microphone, HM-165, attached.

HARD button
When you need an instant boost in volume, a simple press of the LOUD button will give you full volume immediately. Also, holding the LOUD button will mute the audio output.

Noise-canceling microphone
The sub-microphone on the rear panel inverts the phase and cancels out ambient noise from the main microphone. As a result, the IC-M36 reduces the influence of background noise (especially trebly sounds) from the transmitted signal and makes it easier to capture voice communications.

Automatic volume adjustment
When in a machine room or high-noise environment, the sub-microphone detects ambient noise and the IC-M36 automatically increases the volume output to suit the surrounding environment.

Low power consumption
Although the IC-M36 delivers a high 6W RF output and 700mW audio output, its low-current circuitry offers a practical 8-hour* operation time with the supplied 980mAh (typ.) Lithium-Ion battery pack.

Large buttons and slim dimensions
Thanks to its large, easy-to-operate buttons, the IC-M36 provides intuitive operation. Its slim waist-clamp body makes it easy to hold and carry the radio, and it is surprisingly compact for a floating radio.
